MAKER CHAMPION PROGRAM

What is a Maker Educator?

A maker educator is an educator that is diverse and skilled in the world of making. They are versatile individuals that are capable of running workshops, activities, professional development and even in many maker topics. These educators encompass the "Maker Spirit" of never giving up and constantly learning and embracing change. They are a lifelong learner, and turn to making in order to solve many real world problems. This type of educator is a leader that can assist school districts in embracing the maker movement and STEAM activities.

How does this work?

The Maker Champion program is a comprehensive 10-month program that will transform ........

Each month, the participant will go through a different Maker/STEAM topic and dive deep into the concepts, activities and sample educational tools needed to integrate into current/future curriculum. There will be over 8 hours of hands-on instruction per month, as well as online mentoring. Based on the monthly topic, the participant will also be receiving the necessary equipment to work on and take with them to practice on.

At the end of the module, the equipment is given to the student to use at home or at school.

On-site workshops will be held at one of Maker Depot Academy's locations.
